Blockchain and the Metaverse find their way into the Consumer Electronics Show

Blockchain, Metaverse and NFT technology are set to cause a sensation at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week.

CES is an annual event that features exhibits on the latest technological advances and keynote speeches from giants such as LG, Samsung, Amazon, Nvidia, and Sony.

This year’s event takes place January 5-7 and will host more than 2,200 exhibitors, with crypto and NFT companies making a notable addition to the multi-year gadget makers and TV makers.

In the blockchain area, the exhibitors in the crypto currencies category include Derivatives and NFT exchanges FTX, NFT platform Blockparty and NFT software and hardware developer Atomic Form.

Keynote speeches at the event will feature crypto figures such as Filecoin Founding Director Clara Tsao, Celsius Network’s Chief Growth and Product Officer Tushar Nadkami, Coinbase’s Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad, and Art Blocks Inc’s Founder and CEO Erick Calderon to name just a few.

We are tackling the big questions with today’s top experts, ”says the preview for the Decrypting Crypto panel. Speaking of Samsung’s plans for CES – the manufacturer recently launched its Blockchain initiatives by announcing a NFT platform for its new smart TVs – CTA Senior Manager of Industry Intelligence Brian Comiskey told The Australian who:

“We’re really going to look at Samsung. Your smartphone progress at the show will be an interesting area to watch from the hardware metaverse page. Your TVs will even show what they can do for the Metaverse. “

“They are really trying to be a single point of contact for various internet-based economies and technologies,” he added.

Comiskey made some bullish statements about crypto, blockchain technology, and NFTs when speaking of mainstream business interest, referring to them as “the future evolution of payments and what trading looks like” that will rise alongside the metaverse.

“I think NFTs and cryptocurrency really represent an opportunity for blockchain to become more popular with consumers,” he said.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal on Jan. 4, said Maribel Lopez, the lead analyst at technology research analyst Lopez Research said that NFTs and the Metaverse are still new to many top tech companies, but highlighting the cutting edge of the blockchain sector in 2022 fits with the vision of the annual CES events.

“Are we a bit ahead of our skis when it comes to Metaverse and NFTs? Yes. But that’s what CES is all about. “
