The Morning After: Smart beds that adapt to age

As CES draws to a close, we’re still putting together our favorites from the show. This contains Finger-nibbling robots, Smart beds and all kinds of TVs, laptops and gadgets. Yes, we got to see some of the products while we weren’t at the show, but it meant a lot of datasheets and a fair amount of skepticism without many announcements going into effect.

For devices like TVs, that’s usually months later, but for tablets, phones, and wearables, you can expect Engadget to review and stress test many of them sooner rather than later. We are beautiful try the Galaxy S21 FE.

According to reports, Nikola Corp. dropped its $ 2 billion patent infringement lawsuit against Tesla Inc. as Nikola founder Trevor Milton faces fraud charges. Both companies have agreed to assign all claims and counterclaims to one another. Nikola accused Tesla of copying several patented designs for a windshield, fuselage, and side door. Tesla denied this and filed a counterclaim.

Nikola introduced the Nikola One hydrogen-powered tractor-trailer in 2016. However, the SEC accused him of misleading investors, in one case through a video that appeared to show the truck moving under power when it was simple roll down a hill.

The company accuses Lululemon of patent infringement.

Back in June 2020, Lululemon bought the home fitness startup Mirror for $ 500 million. Now Nike has filed a lawsuit against the company over Mirror, accusing it of patent infringement. Nike’s lawsuit alleges that Mirror uses technology it invented.

Nike sent Lululemon a list of patents it allegedly infringed on November 3rd. As you’d expect, the company, better known for making yoga pants and other types of sportswear, contradicted Nike’s assessment. A spokesman told the Wall Street Journal in a statement that the patents in question “are too broad and invalid”. They also said Lululemon was convinced of his position and looked forward to defending it in court.

The agency says the term is too general for a brand.

Snap has sued the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for denying an application the company filed for the word “glasses” in relation to its wearable brand of the same name. The USPTO said Snap’s use of Spectacles failed to achieve the “distinctive character” required for a trademark.

Finally, the bed can alert you to possible health conditions.

Sleep number

The newest bed from Sleep Number adapts to your changing needs. You can raise or lower it if you’re pregnant, have an injury, or just need a hand to get in and out as you get older. This is in addition to existing functions such as temperature control and snore detection. The company also announced some smart furniture to complement the bed. Features include mobility aids, individual noise reduction, ambient lighting and an integrated charging and storage bag. The company will begin shipping the new beds and furniture next year.

ESA cited concerns about COVID-19.

For the third year in a row, the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact E3. The event will again be an online-only affair amid the Omicron surge.

“Due to the ongoing health risks associated with COVID-19 and the potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 2022 will not be held in person,” the Entertainment Software Association told GamesBeat. ESA canceled the 2020 edition of E3 shortly after the pandemic broke out in the US, and a virtual version of the event took place last year.
