Arturia unveils ‘Noir’ editions of its popular MiniBrute synths

Arturie has started Brute Noir Editions its popular mid-tier monophonic synths, the MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2S. It has also launched a limited Brute Noir edition of its analog DrumBrute Impact drum computer. All versions are completely black and not gray, so that they can appeal to musicians who want this aesthetic or the exclusivity of a limited model.

As a reminder, the MiniBrute 2 is a monophonic synthesizer that is semi-modular in that it has a decent patchbay for rerouting the synthesizer signal, but it can also make sounds right out of the box. Further features are a pair of VCOs, two LFOs and the 25-voice, velocity-sensitive keyboard with aftertouch and dual oscillator brute voice. The MiniBrute 2s lacks a keyboard, but offers a 64-step sequencer for “classic synth workflow and a powerful brute character”.

The DrumBrute Impact, on the other hand, is Arturia’s 10-voice analog drum computer. It’s modernized with “Gnarly FM,” says Arturia, along with poly-rhythmic sequencing and a built-in distortion circuit. Arturia didn’t reveal exact prices for the Brute Noir editions prior to release, but did announce the regular ones MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2s Models cost $ 499 while the DrumBrute Impact $ 299 on Amazon.
