Samsung and Viettel start 5G test in Vietnam

Samsung has announced that it will start a 5G test in Vietnam with Viettel, which will use Samsung’s advanced 5G technology.

The trial version allows users in Da Nang to try 5G using Samsung’s 5G technology. Please see below for more information.

“Viettel has continued to prioritize building the 5G infrastructure in key areas of the city,” said Tao Duc Thang, Viettel’s deputy general manager. “Viettel will team up to make intelligent urban development in Da Nang more synchronous and modern, to connect broadband in a multidimensional and secure manner, to ensure the best network infrastructure for digital government development and to support Da Nang’s business and growth.”

With the main task of building a digitized society, Viettel has built a 4G telecommunications infrastructure that covers 97% of the Vietnamese population. The company is also pioneering the provision of the first 5G service in Vietnam. So far, 11 provinces / cities of Vietnam have 5G Viettel coverage (including Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Thua Thien – Hue and Da Nang). People in these areas can experience 5G for free with unlimited capacity on many 5G support devices. The 5G Viettel network in the above areas has a stable data download speed of 600-700 Mbit / s, the highest of up to more than 1 Gbit / s.
