Tesla is selling a microphone for in-car karaoke, but only in China

Tesla sells a new accessory: a microphone for karaoke in the car. The TeslaMic is only available in China for now. The company introduced it during the launch of a Chinese New Year software update that adds a karaoke platform called Leishi KTV to infotainment systems.

According to Tesla, the microphone automatically connects to the infotainment system. The TeslaMic comes in a pack of two, so it might come in handy if you’re ever in the mood to park somewhere with a date and play a few duets. The package costs around $188, but the Tesla store page is can not be loaded for many would-be singers.

ONE Weibo post (which has been mirrored to YouTube) shows the TeslaMic and Karaoke system in action. As electrician notes that by adopting the Leishi KTV interface and catalog, Tesla is building on a “caraoke” feature introduced in 2019 that had a more limited selection of titles.

It remains to be seen if Tesla will start selling the TeslaMic outside of China, but maybe you’ll be able to Buy it with Dogecoin if it ever comes to the US. Meanwhile there is an official karaoke microphone from Carpool which you can connect to your car’s audio system (although you’ll need to provide your own backing tracks and a display with lyrics).
